History
Josef and Katharina Kenzelmann built the hotel in 1935. In those days, it was not possible to run a hotel or bed and breakfast without permission from the federal council. They needed to determine the need for accommodation in Zeneggen for travellers and tourists. Luckily, they made the right decision!
The couple led the hotel Alpenblick through many hard times with enormous dedication. Josef Kenzelmann was colonel in the army and Zeneggen's primary school teacher, which meant that his wife, Katharina, was often alone in running the hotel.
In 1978, it was passed on, without further ado, to the next generation. Klaus and Elsbeth Kenzelmann took on their new responsibility and with it, a complete renovation project. Shared bathroom facilities, proved to no longer be what guests expected, and so the building was gutted and the rooms resituated, each receiving it`s own en suite bathroom.
During the following years, further renovations took place during the winter months, the last major one in 2010. The small single rooms on the top floor made space for a suite with living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.
The next change in generation was in 2012. Christoph Kenzelmann, Klaus and Elsbeth`s oldest son, took on the responsibility of the hotel. Having spent several years working in the chemical and IT business, Christoph returned in 2007 and learned the hotel business from scratch. Since taking over the responsibility, he has steering the kitchen with never ending imagination and innovation.
