Arrival & Stay
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is possible from 1:30 PM. Check-out is until 11:00 AM. You can leave your luggage at the reception if you arrive early or depart late.
What are the reception opening hours?
The reception is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Outside these hours, a night bell is available to the right of the hotel entrance.
Is there a parking lot?
Yes, the parking lot near the stable (on both sides of the road to Alt-Zeneggen) is free of charge.
How can I reach the hotel without a car?
There is a bus connection from Visp to Zeneggen and further to Moosalp. You can get current timetables at the reception.
Is there an electric vehicle charging station?
Yes, there is a charging station in the parking lot. With the badge from the reception, you can charge your car at a reduced rate.
Rooms & Amenities
Are all rooms non-smoking?
Yes, all rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on the balcony – an ashtray is provided.
Do all rooms have a balcony?
Yes, all rooms have their own balcony. Chairs, a table, and woolen blankets for cool evenings are available.
Is there Wi-Fi in the hotel?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel. You will receive the password at the reception. In the Salon Catherine, there is also a PC with internet access.
Are baby cots available?
Yes, upon request, we will provide a baby cot (120/60 cm) free of charge in your room.
What are the room types and their features?
We offer double rooms, deluxe double rooms, a suite (with a separate living area and kitchen), a deluxe single room (queen-size bed 2m × 1.60m), and single rooms. All rooms are furnished with larch wood, and all beds are 2 meters long.
Restaurant & Breakfast
What are the restaurant opening hours?
The restaurant is open to the public and is open daily from 8:00 AM during the season. On Tuesdays (closing day), it opens at 5:00 PM.
What time is breakfast served?
The breakfast buffet is served daily from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM in the dining room. Coffee and tea are served at the table.
Do you offer half-board?
Yes, half-board guests receive a varied, light 5-course menu daily, prepared by Christoph Kenzelmann. Fresh products from the hotel’s own vegetable garden are regularly included.
What is the «Raclette Evening»?
Every Tuesday is Raclette Evening: vegetable soup, raclette, and fruit salad. If you do not wish to have raclette, please let us know in advance.
Can I eat at the restaurant without staying at the hotel?
Yes, the restaurant is open to the public. A reservation is not mandatory but helps us prepare your table. If you have a favorite spot, please let us know.
Wine & Cellar
Can I buy the house wine?
Yes, our wines are available directly at the restaurant. Pinot Noir (7.5 dl CHF 18.–), Johannisberg/Silvaner (7.5 dl CHF 15.–), and Muscat. Please note: Stocks are limited and may not last the entire season.
Where is the vineyard located?
The vineyard is located in the Riedboden below Zeneggen, at an altitude of 800–900 meters – all within sight of the hotel.
Who designed the wine labels?
The labels were painted by the Japanese artist Teruko Yokoi.
Dogs & Pets
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, quiet and clean dogs are welcome in the hotel room. They are not allowed in the breakfast room or dining area. Cost: CHF 10.– per day.
Activities & Surroundings
Which hikes start directly from the hotel?
The hotel is located in the heart of the Moosalp hiking region. At the reception, you will find hiking maps, route suggestions, and tips for excursions throughout the Upper Valais.
How far is it to Zermatt or Saas-Fee?
Zeneggen is centrally located in the Upper Valais, 9 km above Visp. Zermatt is about 45 minutes away, and Saas-Fee about 40 minutes.
Are there options for mountain biking or e-biking?
Yes, the region offers excellent MTB and e-bike trails. You can find more information at the reception.
Season & Booking
When is the hotel open?
Hotel Alpenblick is a seasonal business: open from mid-May to the end of October (typically May 17 to October 23). The hotel is closed outside the season.
Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes, for direct bookings via our website, free cancellation is possible until the day before arrival.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, debit card, Postcard, VISA, and MasterCard are accepted.
